Gottcha Day in Chicago
Well we had a wonderful time in Chicago! Dan and I both thought this was our best Gottcha Day yet apart from our very first Gottcha Day when we met Lia for the first time. We took the South Shore train line from Michigan City into Chicago which is a wonderful way to travel without all the crazy Chicago traffic. Lia really enjoyed riding the train. Friday after we had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, we made our pilgrimage to the American Girl Doll store. Of course Lia was entranced by all the beautiful dolls and had a difficult time deciding which doll to get. In the end we went home with the doll that looked the most like her with long black hair and bangs and dark brown Asian looking eyes. She named her doll Ivy Grace because she liked the name from the new American Girl doll who is supposed to be Chinese and her name is Ivy Ling. Lia didn't want to choose this doll but she liked the name Ivy. We also went to Shedd's Aquarium and the Chicago Children's Museum which were both huge hits with Lia. The pictures from our trip are posted below.
