Our big treat this week was having little Miss Lucy come stay and play at our house for the week while Julie and Bill were away on vacation. She and Chloe (and Lia) have had so much fun together!!! We've done lots of dancing, running, and whatever else two little two year olds can think of. And what one didn't think of, the other one did so it really kept me on my toes! But we've had a lot of fun!
As usual, it's really hard to coax a smile on cue out of little Miss Chloe : )
We went to a really fun Chinese New Year celebration this afternoon that Jane's mom had put together. There were about 250 people there and it included very cool performances by Chinese dancers! There was also the dragon dance" which I caught on video and I'll post a clip of that later. After the party we went out for dinner with Hannah and her family and Kate and her family. Jane's family couldn't come but Jane came with us to dinner. All in all, a wonderful day celebrating our girl's Chinese heritage and having a great time with good friends!
We had our school friends over last Friday night to celebrate the Chinese New Year. We all ordered our favorite Chinese food and then we shared which was fun. Lia and I made seven dozen sugar cookies (the gluten free kind from scratch for our family) to make Chinese moon pies. You put jam between two sugar cookies so Lia helped me and we "frosted" all the cookies into jam sandwiches.
