I haven't been blogging much this week because I've been busy scrubbing my aluminum siding. No, this is not a Dutch spring cleaning ritual.......we had to get the siding ready to paint. Originally the plan was to have someone paint for us but then we decided to take advantage of the energy tax credit that's available this year and replace a lot of our very old, single-paned windows. So that meant we could not afford to do both..... So we channeled all our old "do it yourself" energy and rolled up our sleeves (literally) and began painting. Some of you might remember that at our old house we did almost everything ourselves b/c back then we really couldn't afford to have anything done. And we learned a lot from those days. So with our new project so far so good. We both really liked the paint color we've chosen - a greenish gray. This is good b/c there have been times in the past where we've gotten something painted and not liked the result and we've had to repaint the whole thing. This would be bad! We're hoping to have it all painted (maybe not the trim) by the end of May. Wish us luck!
