And the winner is......

Today was Grandparents day at Lia's school. Nana and I went together to spend a couple of hours with Lia. We attended her art class and her science class. Her science teacher has had the kids working on creating a bridge made of toothpicks for the past month. The bridge was supposed to be able to hold the weight of five pounds. The bridges were judged first for beauty of design and then by function (how much weight they could hold). All the kids and their grandparents voted on favorite design. The kids could not vote for their own bridge. And guess who won?? Our Lia and her friend Emma who designed the award winning bridge!!!! Congratulations Lia!!!!

In art class the teacher had all of us work with the students in creating a watercolor painting. We were told to paint rainbow colors behind our trees. Here's a picture of Lia and my designs. It was a really fun afternoon! And later in the evening we went to Lia's play of "Sleeping Beauty". I'll do a separate post for that.
