I guess I don't need to say here that our preschool co-op group had a wonderful time today horseback riding at our dear friend Bill's farm. The girls had the privilege of riding one of the most gentle stallions alive named Solomon. Solomon was given to Bill by the brother of the ruler of Baharain. It's quite an amazing story how all that happened because those horses are almost never given away because they are considered national treasures. Supposedly the horses are decended from the line of King Solomon's horses. One of the last ones given out was given to Queen Elizabeth II. But this man, who didn't even know Bill personally, decided to give him one. However, Bill had to wait five years before Solomon could be brought to the U.S. So clearly Bill knows all about long waits. He showed the girls how to saddle up the horse, put on his bridle, and shave his wiskers. And then he let them ride for almost an hour and a half! What a great friend Bill is!!!!
