Hotel happiness!!

So the other day I mentioned on my post that we were waiting to hear which hotel we would be staying at in Chongqing, the first city we're going to in China. We've been to Chongqing before when we got Lia and we stayed at a Holiday Inn at that time. While the Holiday Inn was a very nice hotel, it was pretty far off the beaten track and so it was about a half hour bus ride anywhere we wanted to go. So consequently we ended up hanging out at our hotel A LOT! And that got to be very boring after seven days of just hanging out in the hotel. But this time, our travel group requested to stay at a different hotel called the Harbour Plaza which is located in the downtown area. Our good friends stayed there when they adopted their second daughter last summer. They said it's right near a KFC, a Pizza Hut, and a Starbucks. It's also attached to the local department store. So I am very excited about the possibilities with all that and I'm really hoping that time will pass more quickly with much more to do.

Also, the other good news on the hotel scene is that the White Swan hotel in Guangzhou (the second city where we have to go that's near Hong Kong) is still open. The White Swan is a renowned adoption hotel where all travel groups have "red couch pictures" taken on the famous red couches inside the White Swan. The White Swan hotel also has an AMAZING children's playroom that was completely outfitted by Mattel. And they have great shops on the lower level. And they are on Shaiman Island where all the great shopping is in Guangzhou (imagine a Key West kind of atmosphere). The hotel was supposed to close earlier this year for an extensive rennovation but apparently that got delayed till later this fall. So we are very excited to be able to stay at the White Swan again on this trip.

So again, answers to prayers here!
