Update from the home front

We video Skyped with my mom and Lia this morning. They had a couple of funny stories to tell us of how things were going at home. Lia had taken our cat, Butterscotch, out on a leash for a little stroll in the garden. This is a relatively new thing for him to be able to go outside because we only just got the harness and leash for him about a week before we left. He is normally never allowed out because when we got him we had to sign a contract saying he would not be allowed to be an outside cat. Well Butterscotch has really enjoyed his new freedom of being able to go out on the leash until today. Apparently the dogs somehow got outside at the same time he was out and he got really scared and bolted while Lia was holding the leash. His harness slipped off and he went twenty feet up one of our big oak trees. Of course by this time Lia was screaming and crying for Nana (who had run into the house for a minute to grab something) to come save Butterscotch. My mom quick got the dogs into the house and then she and Lia coaxed Butterscotch back down the tree. My mom said Butterscotch seemed pretty relieved when she grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and took him back inside. Needless to say his days of strolling in the garden are over for quite a while (at least till we get home for sure).

But all in all Nana and Lia are doing great. They have been working on creating a beautiful big castle to surprise us with when we get home. Can't wait to see it guys!
