It's midnight in Guangzhou right now (that's 12 noon EST) and we've just arrived safely at our hotel. They had a security breach at the airport which delayed our flight from leaving and then they couldn't get the jetway to retract which delayed us even more. So in total we were about an hour late in leaving. But we got to Toyko with plenty of time to spare and made the connecting flight to Guangzhou without a problem.
And it was a LONG, LONG flight!! Five years had kind of dimmed my memory of how long that flight really was. Both Dan and I don't really like any type of extended road trip so this was like a marathon road trip in length. But the worst of it's over now and our flight tomorrow to Chongqing is only about 1 1/2 hours long which seems like nothing compared to our 22 hours of flying to get here :)
I'll blog with some pictures tomorrow when we get to Chongqing.
