Around Chongqing

Here are some pictures from the city of Chongqing. You can see from the pictures that it can be quite smoggy. And it's a city thats filled with contrasts - a five star hotel right next to a derelict building. But the people here are very friendly and they are very interested in what we Americans are doing with Chinese babies. Our guide gave us a card to carry with us that explains that we're here from the United States to adopt a Chinese child, that we will love and care for the baby, and that we love the land of China. People read that explanation and they give us the thumbs us or say something in Chinese and smile so we know they are pleased.

Walmart was not anything like we were expecting from the outside. It just looked like a small store front but when you got inside it was really quite large (two floors). We were able to get diapers, more formula, and a couple of cute things for Lia there.
